The Chronicle of Higher Education keeps a running tally of university DEI programs that have bit the dust. Here’s where things stood as of Jan. 17.
The Chronicle seems to be watching the casualty count with real alarm, judging from the illustration (see below) it pairs with the page, which has a hammer mercilessly bashing away at poor little DEI. It’s a sort of obituary page, where a growing list of dead friends are fondly remembered and mourned over.
But not all of us are in black veils about it. Some of us view DEI programs as a clear and present danger to free speech, academic freedom, and ideological diversity on campus. We follow each new Chronicle update with a growing sense of relief.
